10 years ago, before the digital revolution in photography really hit the streets, I used a Contax G-2, with 4 of the Zeiss G lenses for 35mm work. I loved that camera and the image quality that it produced. But now it is on the shelf [with all of my Pentax 645 & 67II bodies and lenses!]...no market for that gear anymore.
Is there a digital camera body that will accept the Zeiss G lenses?
If you could let me know, I would appreciate it a great deal.
If you don't know, could you refer me to someone who could help me?

I wonder if there is an adapter for the Panasonic G1 that might work? There are G1 adapters out there for lots of other lens mounts, but I'm not sure about this one.
Anybody know?
The Pentax 645 lenses can be adapted to use on Canon EOS bodies. Check eBay.

I know that you can convert them to an M-mount, and stick it on an M8 or M9. (http://www.japanexposures.com/lens/)
the conversion is irreversible however.

The Contax G mount was a proprietary mount and there is no camera accepting these fine lenses as Kyocera is no longer in the camera business. They are truly orphaned. There are M4/3 adapters out there, but bear in mind that the G lenses are AF, so you need to operate the AF mechanism by hand. While the lens conversion to M mount is the most expensive way, it is also the most reliable and future proof method to make use of these lenses and will not compromise their optical quality in any way.

There is a G to m43 adapter, but it has limited compatibility as the rear shrouds on the 28 and 21 cause issues.

James/Patrick/Tom/Dirk/Adam:
Thank you for your good comments. They are very helpful. Better than anything I could glean from the Web. It seems that my Contax G lenses will be permanent museum pieces!
Thanks-Doug

There's been an extensive discussion of adapting Contax G lenses to Micro-FourThirds cameras on the GetDPI.com forum. Follow this URL to read it:
http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11575
Synopsis:
- There are now at least two if not three adapters available.
- The 16, 21 and 28 mm lenses are problematic and don't adapt well, but the 21 and 28 can be adapted with minor modification.
- The 35, 45 and 90 mm lenses are superb and perform very well on Micro-FourThirds cameras.
- Some find the focusing wheel implemented on the shipping adapters a little fussy to work with. The new one coming up might be a big improvement.
I wouldn't go out and buy Contax G lenses specifically to use now, but if I still had mine I'd be buying an adapter right away.

Ask Adriano Lolli if it's possible to make such an adapter for Contax G -> MFT.
